This is a permanent position subject to the successful candidate signing a performance agreement. A six-month probation period applies.

Purpose of the Position:
To lead and guide the provision of Supply Chain Management and Asset Management services in line with applicable legislative requirements and Wesgro policies to enable responsible sourcing, logistics, supplier development, and vendor management as well as the information system needed to coordinate these priorities. This includes ensuring that the principles of good corporate governance are implemented and working closely with the CEO and/or CFO to improve current business operations and revise them to achieve the Agency’s long-term vision.
Requirements:
- Relevant NQF 7 qualification – Commerce or Legal Degree.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience within supply chain management (3 year of that should be management experience) or completed three-year articles with practical audit of supply chain management plus three years management experience.
- CA(SA) advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles in the public sector.
- Working understanding of standard of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) relating to assets.
- Working knowledge of relevant Public Sector legislation, e.g. PFMA, National and Provincial Treasury Regulations, Administrative Law.
- Passionate about Cape Town and the Western Cape as well as creating jobs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate, develop the Wesgro SCM policy, SCM bid committee guidelines, annual procurement plan, asset management plans, procurement processes and procedures, in line with relevant legislative prescripts.
- Socialise the SCM policies and guidelines to internal stakeholders for comprehension and compliance.
- Provide overall leadership, coordination, and technical supervision of Wesgro’s strategic sourcing processes.
- Guide and manage the maintenance of business processes and procedures that results in a compliant end-to-end procurement process.
- Guide and manage contract management activities along with the performance management of service providers.
- Provide sound technical SCM advice.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enable the timely execution of their procurement requirements.
- Guide the asset team on various technical matters relating to maintaining of a complete asset register and compliance with GRAP Requirements.
- Utilise data and market insights to inform strategic interventions and policy advocacy.
- Drive digital innovation in SCM team.
- Monitor and report on performance, budgets, and impact of SCM activities.
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer.
