Garden Route and Klein Karoo
As spring begins to leave its first traces across the Garden Route, it's once again time for Musefees in Groot Brakrivier. From 24 to 26 September 2026, festivalgoers are invited to immerse themselves in a world of stories, music, history, nature, and creativity.
This year's programme brings an exciting variety of experiences to the village. Isabella Niehaus, award-winning cookbook author and food enthusiast, will share her passion for food, people, and bringing communities together at Charcoal & Charm Restaurant. Albé Grobbelaar will take audiences on a journey through the past with his renowned Historical Almanac, which has captivated RSG listeners for decades. Ilne Fourie, a writer, actress, voice artist, and performer best known for her one-woman comedy shows, will also be joining the festival. Jacobi & Olga will present Almost Famous, a stylish cabaret blending music, humour, and storytelling while exploring the fine line between dreams and reality. Schoemé Schoeman, coordinator of the ATKV Teen and Children's Theatre programme, part-time lecturer, and adjudicator, will entertain younger visitors with her Puppe Trix puppet performances.
The festival's masterclasses offer opportunities to learn new skills and discover fresh inspiration. AfriHardeware will empower visitors with practical do-it-yourself demonstrations. Nature enthusiasts can enjoy activities celebrating the unique beauty and biodiversity of Groot Brakrivier, while the ever-popular Bo-baas Braaibroodjie & Sausage Competition returns to Searles Village.
Come and be part of an inspiring celebration filled with engaging conversations, creativity, and enriching experiences that encourage learning and imagination. Find your inspiration—your "muse"—in Groot Brakrivier.
